About me.

I am a registered member of the BACP, committed to providing a professional service, continuing my Continued Professional Development and my own self development. I am fully insured and DBS checked.

My degree BA(hons) was an Integrative Relational Psychotherapeutic course. Integrative meaning I can draw from many theoretical perspectives and experience, from a psychoanalytic train of thought to brief solution focussed work.  I also have a Post graduate diploma in Working with Young People.

I started my helping role in the Samaritans for 5 years, supporting callers and fellow Samaritans. Whilst training for my degree, I worked in a 6th form college and a doctor’s surgery with individual adults. Once qualified in 2013 I worked for Relate working in secondary schools and colleges. I also had a private practice seeing adults. After the pandemic I worked for a third sector charity working with CAMHS referrals, including many neurodivergent young people and families. After moving to Dorset, I now work in private practice again with adults and young people.

Experience and what I can help with.
I have worked with adults, families and young people from the age of 10 years old, through to university students. I am aware of the challenges young people face and have seen how the pandemic has affected many from this age group.  I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, stress, suicidal thoughts, gender, sexuality, identity, food related difficulties, ASD and ADHD, transitioning into adulthood, attachment, family dynamics, domestic abuse and intimacy.

Equally I see how the day-to-day stresses of life can adversely affect adults/parents and relationships.     I work with adults of all ages, supporting them with the complex challenges we can all face in today’s society, including work, relationships, loss and grief, feeling stuck, family, parenting, aging, global and climate challenges and the effect these have on our wellbeing.  I have completed many Continued Professional Development courses and am committed to expanding my knowledge and experience, in order to support others.
